Teaching Citizenship Through Human Rights - Teacher Training Events
To celebrate the launch of the new Key Stage 3 Teaching Resource, Right Here, Right Now: Teaching citizenship through human rights, a series of free regional teacher training events were held throughout June 2008 in Bristol, London, Coventry, Newcastle and Leeds. The one-day training events aimed to:
The events were a great success, with over 160 teachers and supporters of citizenship education attending. We were very fortunate to have Chris Waller, Audrey Osler and Hugh Starkey as keynote speakers at the various events, which gave participants an inspiring start to the day. Participants fed back that they found them both informative, useful and also good fun!
