"As the dust starts to settle on the 2024 General Election, it's clear there will be big shifts in power. We welcome the incoming Government and MPs. At BIHR, our mission is to enable positive social change using the Human Rights Act in people's everyday lives. For too long there has been a failure of leadership on human rights here at home. After years of continually having to ward off attacks to our law from those in power intent on weakening our universal protections, we now need commitment to setting a positive agenda for respecting, protecting and fulfilling people's human rights at the highest levels right through to our communities. Moving forward, BIHR looks forward to focussing on the job of actually making human rights real and meaningful for people in all the places that matter to us, in health, care, education, housing, welfare and more."
